Associate Vice President of Assessment and Institutional Research
Tracy Schuster-Matlock began her career at St. Ambrose in 2001 as an assistant professor of education, and now holds the rank of full professor. While teaching, Tracy also served as the program's assessment coordinator and led efforts for the initial national accreditation of the program by TEAC, as well as compliance measures with the Iowa Board of Education. From 2009-2013, Tracy served as a board member and ultimately the President of the Iowa Association of Colleges for Teacher Education. Between 2010-2015, Tracy served Educator Preparation Programs of Iowa as Chair of the Advisory Council of State Representatives (ACSR) and member of the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE) Board of Directors.
Since joining administration at St. Ambrose University in 2010 serving as the Dean of University Academic Programs. Reporting to the Provost and Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs, Tracy oversaw General Education, First and Second Year Experience, Accessibility Resource Center, Study Abroad, Institutional Research, and Assessment. Additionally, she served as the Director of Strategic Planning for the 2015 St. Ambrose University Strategic Plan from 2014-2020.
In 2018, Tracy became the Associate Vice President of Assessment and Institutional Research. Today, she provides leadership, supervision, and strategic direction for the direct reporting areas, including, but not limited to: university assessment of student learning and course evaluations, HLC regional accreditation and compliance measures, and institutional research. Tracy also serves at the Accreditation Liaison Officer for St Ambrose University, and as a Peer Reviewer for the Higher Learning Commission.
